A new adventure.

On Wednesday our only children set out on an adventure. After both securing jobs in different areas of Alberta last week, they packed up what gear they would need and flew out. They left home at 5:30am and boarded their flight at 9:00am. They landed in Toronto and then on to Calgary and on to Edmonton. And after lots of delays, finally made it to their destinations after midnight ( which would have been after 3am our time), they had quite a time. Neither boy had flown before, we sent them with someone they knew, who was going where our oldest went.

Ethan went to a small town called Fox Creek where he will be trucking for an oil company. He is the baby at only 17, he enjoys an adventure, last fall he spent 15 days on a scallop dragger, was sick most of the time, so figured he'd stay on solid ground.
Anthony, 21, spent a year looking for a job, unfortunately he found one on the other side of the country. After his courses are finished he wants to go to a camp at an oil rig where they work so many days and get some off, so he can come home to see Landen. Can not believe that Landen will be 4 months on the 29 th, except there is no 29 in February.
Heard from them last night and they arrived safely. We are waiting for photos of their adventures, and shall travel through their eyes. Missing our boys!!

Brrr.....chilly!!

This was taken yesterday, one of the coldest mornings, -19*C......brrr!
Our youngest son took a MED (marine emergency duties) course this week.
It was snowing, the harbor was frozen, it was just nasty. Brrrr..
The ducks were sitting on ice from where the salmon farm boats had left earlier....brrrr!
The final test for their course was to practice what they had learned. Brrr...

On your mark....
Get set.......

GO!

Brrrr
Ethan is 3rd from left, holding a thick piece of ice.
He said it wasn't too cold, only his face was instantly numb from going under water. Brrr!
Where it was so cold they didn't keep them in the water too long, and also didn't bring out the life raft, personally I think they should have gotten the full effect. But I wasn't in the water....brrrr!
I am proud of him!!!
