Drizzlie but busy weekend

I couldn't decide which picture was better so I put them both.
Friday night we loaded Ethan and his horse and they went to a clinic in town, it called for rain all weekend but it ended up just drizzle. Poor Emily, one of the donkeys, was very upset when we took Cherokee out of the pasture, she butted the gate with her head and pawed the ground and paced by the gate, she's never acted like this when Cherokee's gone before, he's been gone twice already this spring. She settled down after a little while. Max the other donkey didn't seem the least bit bothered that he was gone.
The weekend went by very quickly, all went well, Ethan and Cherokee rode well, Cherokee was very happy to get home, Emily and Max sniffed him all over and all was back to normal.
Can not believe that summer is here....note the heavy flannel jacket that Ethan is wearing.
Happy Summer!

Wildflowers

I found this pretty little flower growing along the electric fence line, I think it is a trillium.
This little beauty is growing along the driveway in the woods, my favorite wildflower.

My arbor is finished!

Yesterday I finally got to put finishing touches on the arbor, I must say it looks good for being slightly used! Still not sure where it will go but it looks fine where we put it for now. At a gate to what used to be the donkey pen, which now leads to the chicken house and their pen.
Sorry that it is so small, the chicken house is on the left and the hosta garden on the right....see how happy they are now that they are safe inside a fence not being eaten by the BAD chickens!

Enjoying another day off

I am enjoying a quiet day alone, so far I painted a little on my arbor, that we were given that was gently used. It now has to be turned over so the other side can be painted. It was lovely earlier, I could smell the ocean, we are a couple of km away so it is a treat when I can smell it. To think when we first were married we lived in Ottawa, on an Air force base and when we moved home I missed the smell of jet fuel...crazy...I do love the ocean.
Now the sun is shining, so I hung out the laundry, I also love laundry on the line.
Not sure what the afternoon will bring, maybe some weeding ...fun, fun, fun!
