Hurricane Bill

Hurricane Bill passed by us early Sunday morning, luckily for the most part we only received rain and small amount of wind, but the seas were fabulous! We drove around for about 4 hours here and there along the coast and each spot we went the waves got better and better. It was hard to pick my favorite photos!! What made the waves so great was that it was high tide as well.

Fun in the sun!

OOps forgot to title my post!
I'm not very good at this, I meant for the lighthouse picture to be first! Anyway, last Sunday we went out in our friends boat, we have a really long harbour, with an Island at the entrance and I'd never gone around the whole island because it is open ocean. I get a little queasy, but did well! It was a beautiful day, so the lighthouse is on the island and can only be seen from a boat, entering the harbour. We've hiked the island a couple of times, it is 7km long, so quite a hike return trip. This was the first time I'd seen it from this angle, I was not disappointed! After we rounded the island and started back toward the harbour, we spotted a whale, not sure of the size, but very exciting just the same, my first whale!! I'm jumping around a little the name of the lighthouse is Cape Roseway and it is on McNutt's Island, built in 1788. We are waiting to see if Hurricane Bill is going to hit us....so far nothing!

Relaxing at the beach!

We just got back from a short camping trip, we went to Thomas Raddall Provincial Park about 1/2 hour from home.....we didn't have a drop of rain....yea! We had a very relaxing time, played in the water, and walked the beaches and trails. Oldest son babysat the critters, and all was well! They survived without us, we'll just have to go again!!!!

A beautiful weekend finally!

After several years of not going camping, Hubby and I went. We left the boys home to fend for themselves and most importantly look after my babies; horse, donkeys, chickens and cats. We only went across the harbour to our Provincial campground, about 7 minutes from home, but believe me that was far enough for our first time. The animals were all alive and well when we got home, after being gone 24 hours! We had no fewer than 30 ducks right outside our door thismorning, but I didn't count on feeding the wildlife so I didn't have anything to give them, but next time I will!
